When our guests chose to mark a milestone birthday with a special trip to Ireland, they didn’t just want a holiday. They wanted an experience. And that’s exactly what we set out to create.

As part of their 5 Day Farm Stay, they were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime celebration: a medieval banquet hosted in Tom King’s Forge, complete with incredible food by the brilliant PlatterbyLu, flagons raised, and plenty of laughter ringing off the stone walls. It was a feast fit for a king, and a birthday worthy of the occasion.

From the moment the plan was set in motion, we worked behind the scenes to shape a celebration that would honour a man with a love for Irish charm. The day was full of heart, humour, and good old-fashioned craic. From handcrafted platters to storytelling and music, it was one of those events we’ll be talking about for a long time to come.

A Celebration to Remember

Our medieval-style feast that blended tradition, flavour, and atmosphere. Guests gathered around the open fire for a spread of baked ham, fresh salads, seeded bread, custard tartlets, and drinks like mead, cider, wine, and whiskey.

As the banjo played, blacksmith Tom brought history to life, shaping iron, telling stories, and turning craft into culture. It was a celebration full of heart, and a perfect example of how special moments come alive at Johnsfort.

We were genuinely delighted to be part of it. These are the moments that remind us why we do what we do.
